Giza Plains in the Rain
Characters: Paddra Nsu-Yeul & Open
Where: Giza Plains (Wet Season)
When: Close to twilight
What: Yeul wakes up on the ground, she believes that she is in the Dead Dunes.
The effortless sound of the wind wisps carried through achromatic strands against the ground, soaking it to the point of full saturation and darking it a little. The raindrops pelted her pallid skin, they were so soft that it felt like fingertips gently tapping on her cheeks. This was the first time since her ascension that she had felt a touch sensation; becoming Etro didn't really have the senses that humans had anymore. Now that she could, her eyes fluttered slightly and she opened them to see something of a desert atmosphere, she assumed to be the Dead Dunes.
Pressing her hands against the ground, she stood up and wiped off her clothing and looked around to notice a book attached to something. Yeul gripped the book from the ground, opened it and noticed there was a writing already there and it was about her. Tilting her head, she thought it must have been something important as she was used to strange things already. Just knowing that she was alive, tangible again had her feeling fearful for her life unprotected and she looked for Caius in any capacity. "Caius?" She called out, her voiced was desperate and alarmed that he has not come with her or found a way to.
All Caius needed was one call and he would have appeared by her side, but she knew that the world was barren of life. A part of her thought that this was her punishment for her wrong-doings and she set down against the ground, sitting Indian style with the book in her hands across her lap. The rain was helpful to hide momentary lapse of her feelings of abandonment. The rain only helped to make her feel more melancholy than she was when she realized that Caius was not here and she was alone.

This was meant to have been a quick and easy errand. He was to go to the site of the nomad village, fetch something someone had left behind, hand it off to one of their people left lingering in the city. Nothing, however, went according to plan, between slogging through swampy ground, a storm elemental that took great offense to him casting Cure on himself, an oversized split-faced croc that thought he looked tasty.
In his haste to return to somewhere dry, Ceodore almost missed her, a young lady sitting out in the rain. Now that was curious. Nevermind that he was soaked to the bone, he jogged over to her and kneels down closer to her level.
"Miss, are you okay?"

In her own sorrow, she heard the sound of footsteps and stopped her sadness immediately. She knew how to handle threats in the form of the large and scary, but all she saw was a whitish-haired young man who knelt nearby -- even speaking to her. The sudden realization that humanity still existed, even in some form made her glad on the inside even if her outside held a listless expression.
"Yes." Yeul did not stand up, she was uncertain if this man was dangerous to her or safe. She moved and folded her legs properly, her hands staying on her white and lavender skirt. "Are we in the Dead Dunes?" For now, she was unsure if she should tell anyone who or what she was. Yeul kept her eyes on him, watching him for any movement that might betray him and turn him into her enemy. The realization that Caius was not there to aid her, to help her or keep her safe made speaking to people a bit more frightening than she originally thought it would be.

That was an admission he's not from the area either, but then, the young prince has always struggled with learning when it is best to keep his mouth shut. When talking to strangers, even soggy girls, it's not always best to blab all one's business.
"Uh... is there a reason you're out here?"
It seemed rather strange to simply sit in the rain.

"I did not think I was in a place where humans continued existence either, it is complicated. There appeared to be no purpose of leaving this place." The silver-haired maiden stood there silently, she wasn't sure of how to respond to normal people anymore as it had been so long.
"I have not heard of the Giza Plains before." Yeul muttered to herself, trying to wrap her head around the current problem.

"Uh, I'm not sure about where you thought you were, but there are plenty of people in the city. And Seeq and Bangaa and Moogles and a few Nu Mou and Viera too." Fewer of some of those races than others, but the benefit of having lived at the Skysea was that none of them were unfamiliar to him. Despite having grown up in a world where other races did not exist, Ceodore had always been open to accepting them, even if they did not identify as human, or Hume as they called it.
He spared a glance around the area, noting the crackling lightning in the distance and the thudding sound that announced the presence of an overgrown tortoise. "If your friend isn't coming, I can escort you to the city. There's monsters here." And Ceodore came from a chauvenistic nation where ladies were put on the back row of the party. Leaving a defenseless woman alone in the rain was unacceptable.

"Where I am from, humans are far and few between." And it is my fault.
"There is a city with people?" She had the smallest uplift in her voice from severe interest. Seeing people within a city was a rare thing, she hadn't seen anything but souls in a very long time. "Monsters?" Yeul parroted.
Yeul was not fit for physically fighting any monsters, her abilities also tended to cause a lot of problems if used without deep thought. She placed her hands together and brought them to her lips. "We can go together." Yeul stated, oddly. She pressed the side piece on her head dress and all of her long silvery hair pulled back, readying herself for the walk.
Little did he know that it would be a very slow walk.

Remembering his manners, he held out his arm for the young lady to take. His hereditary title might not matter anymore, and certainly not in Ivalice, but that didn't exempt him from behaving himself accordingly.
He was desperately curious about the place this young lady came from though. The prince has never had much of a filter on what he said anyway, and out popped a question before he could remember that he should perhaps not pry.
"What's it like where you're from? And why aren't there many people?

Yeul was not accustomed to going with strangers, especially without Caius and she felt her body even tremble a little as she reached for his bicep. Yeul's hand did not grip firmly, keeping it there just enough to get support for her strange gait. "I come from a place where I can show people the way. I am from one of the oldest tribes on Pulse, the planet I live on. There are cities, outlands and many tribesmen but due to the Fall of Cocoon, the moon, people have started going extinct." Yeul said those words like a prophecy; breathy and enigmatic tone laced her very words as she spoke them.
The rain trickled down her face, soaked her clothes but she didn't seem to mind that --she was pre-occupied with Ceodore and why he was helping her; The one who made the Unseen Chaos.

He listened intently, brow furrowing in concentration as she spoke. There was something about those places. Something familiar that someone on Gaia mentioned, but he just couldn't place them. Wait, didn't Vanille mention Cocoon before? Ceodore was just not quite certain and had been let down more times than he could count on being recognized.
It was the mention of the moon falling that truly grasped his attention. It sounded like what happened at home, or would have if they had not managed to stop the Creator. Had he already destroyed their world? "Your moon fell? Were your Crystals taken away by the Maenads too?"
